We're excited to spotlight Yentl, a 28-year-old Belgian native who moved to the U.S. as an au pair, met her husband, and now calls Miami home. After adopting their lively dog Henry, they welcomed their daughter Thèa in January 2025, a joy she can't imagine life without.
Yentl treasures simple moments like daycare pick-ups, bath time giggles, and bedtime snuggles. She believes raising a family takes a village, values gentle skincare for her growing family, and holds onto one beautiful reminder: slow down. These days go by so fast.

Key Takeaways
-
Yentl came to the U.S. from Belgium as an au pair, built a life in Miami with her husband and their dog Henry, and welcomed Thèa in January 2025.
-
Her biggest wish is that she would have accepted sooner how much raising a child takes a village. Her advice to other parents is concrete: accept help, lean on friends, and build community wherever you can find it.
-
Living in Florida means sunscreen goes on daily. She keeps the Mustela SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen Stick on hand as a non-negotiable for Thèa.
-
Her bedtime ritual, bath play followed by a book and snuggles until Thèa falls asleep, is the part of the day she protects most.
A Little About You
Tell us a bit about you and your family
"I am Yentl, 28 years old and born & raised in Belgium. 5 years ago I came to the US as an au pair and I met my husband. We moved from New York to Miami Florida for my job we adopted a dog. I'm sure you've seen him in our videos before, his name is Henry and he is absolutely crazy 😅. In January 2025, we welcomed Thèa in our family and I can't imagine life without her anymore."
Yentl's Journey
Yentl spent years adapting to a new country before Thèa arrived, and the lessons from that period of figuring things out on her own shaped how clearly she now sees what she wishes she had done differently.
What has been one of the most meaningful lessons you've learned as a caregiver?
"I have learned that you truly are the world for your little ones and they don't know anything but what you teach and show them. It is up to us as a parent to show them how beautiful the world can be."
What's something you wish you'd known earlier on?
"I kind of knew already - but I wish I accepted it faster - and that is that raising a family really needs a village."
Everyday Moments
Picking Thèa up from daycare and putting her to bed at night are the two moments Yentl returns to again and again. Both anchor her day and both feed directly into her intention to slow down while Thèa is still this small.
What's a small daily moment with your little one(s) that means a lot to you?
"I love to pick her up from daycare and play together when she comes home!"
Is there a routine (bath time, bedtime, morning reset) that feels especially special in your home?
"I really enjoy our bedtime routine (minus fighting to get her clothes on). She really loves to play in the bath and it's a wind down moment for us. We read a book afterwards and snuggle till she falls asleep."

Caring for Skin, Caring for Family
Why is gentle skin care important to you?
"Our skin is our biggest organ and absorbs whatever we put on it, so we have to take care of it."
Are there any Mustela products or routines you reach for regularly?
"I am obsessed with the multi-purpose balm. Makes my skin really soft. I have multiple laying around the house. Also the sunscreen stick. Living in Florida, it's a must have!"
Community & Support
Yentl's definition of support is specific and grounded. A check-in text is enough. That same specificity carries into how she talks about community more broadly.
What helps you feel supported during busy or challenging days?
"Checking in with a text message already makes me feel seen and shows me there is interest in what I do."
What does being part of the Mustela community mean to you?
"I feel connected to people who share the same thoughts and believes about our planet."

A Note to Other Parents
What would you want to tell someone in a similar season of life?
"Oh gosh, so cliché! But it goes so fast, enjoy every moment and accept help from others! Build a community - doesn't have to be family - because friends are important as well!!"
One reminder or intention you're holding onto right now?
"Slow down, you never know when something happens for the last time. Especially with our babies growing so fast!"
