Sustainable plant supply chains
All of Mustela’s plant-based active ingredients are sourced in compliance with the UEBT(2) (Union for Ethical BioTrade), which ensures that our suppliers meet specific environmental and ethical standards including the preservation of animal and plant biodiversity, reforestation, water conservation, and support of local communities. Our manufacturing site in Epernon, France is ISO 14001 certified, which means that it complies with certain environmental standards including waste and energy consumption. Since 2010(4) we have reduced our energy consumption across the board. 33% less water, 30% less gas, 23% less electricity. Since January 2018 our manufacturing site has relied exclusively on renewable electricity. (4) 2017 result for 100 units produced compared to 2010
