Mustela Dermo-Pediatrics, developed to meet the needs of babies and children with hypersensitive skin and skin disorders, is expanding the Stelatopia line to include Stelatopia No-Rinse Cleansing Water.
This new product, designed for daily use, provides one-step cleansing for the face, body and diaper area of newborns, babies and young children with extremely dry skin and atopic tendencies.
"An appropriate bathing regimen is an integral part of the care of newborns, babies and children with atopic skin. Utilizing mild cleansers and moisturizers is an excellent way to calm children’s hypersensitive skin," states Henry Rascoff, MD, Riverside Pediatrics, Cos Cob, CT.
In addition to cleansing, the new Stelatopia No-Rinse Cleansing Water soothes, protects and softens baby’s skin. Since the product does not need to be rinsed off, the skin is further protected from the harmful effects of hard water. Simply apply the Stelatopia No-Rinse Cleansing Water to the skin with a cotton ball and carefully clean the skin.
Stelatopia No-Rinse Cleansing Water, like the other Stelatopia products, incorporates a patented formula with Sunflower Oil Distillate as a key ingredient. This active ingredient performs two important functions: it restructures the skin by enhancing the natural lipids to form an effective skin barrier, and it reduces inflammation thus soothing baby’s skin. The result is the “Active Lipid-Replenishing Process®” which actually re-stimulates the skin to naturally produce the missing key lipids that are needed to hydrate the skin.
Also present in the patented formula are bisabolol, which also soothes baby’s skin, and glycerin which gives the product superior glide to move easily over baby’s skin.
The Stelatopia line consists of four products: Stelatopia Cream Cleanser ($14), Stelatopia Moisturizing Cream ($18), Stelatopia Milky Bath Oil ($17) and the new Stelatopia No-Rinse Cleansing Water ($17). For daily care of baby’s skin, the Stelatopia No-Rinse Cleansing Water is recommended to be used in conjunction with the Stelatopia Moisturizing Cream. For bath time, use Stelatopia Cream Cleanser with Stelatopia Moisturizing Cream. In the event of flare-ups and intense redness, the Milky Bath Oil can be used in baby’s bath along with the Moisturizing Cream.
The Stelatopia line provides more that just relief for baby—it has also shown to reduce the need for prescription medication. Clinical studies conducted on children undergoing corticosteroid treatment for eczema indicated that when Stelatopia Moisturizing Cream is used in conjunction with prescription medication, patients experienced up to a 75% reduction in the dosage of corticosteroids.
In addition to the four Stelatopia products, Mustela Dermo-Pediatrics also includes Stelaker ($12) to eliminate and remove cradle cap and Stelactiv ($11) for moderate to severe diaper rash. Stelactiv is the only product that neutralizes the three enzymes that cause diaper rash.
All Mustela Dermo-Pediatrics products are hypoallergenic and fragrance-free and formulated without paraben, colorant or soap.
