When to visit your doctor during your pregnancy

Leaking fluids

If you’re leaking fluids, your amniotic sac may have torn or broken. A premature delivery may occur. Moreover, once it makes contact with the air, the amniotic fluid is no longer sterile and there is a risk of infection for the baby. You should get to the hospital within two hours; your discharge will be analyzed to determine whether or not it’s amniotic fluid. Bring your sanitary napkin or soiled undergarments to show the physician if he or she asks you for them.
